The Neuroscience curriculum, aimed at deepening knowledge in the field of molecular and cellular neurobiology

Education

The Education curriculum, focused on educational and didactic research on the topics of human biopsychic, social and cultural development.

General objectives of the Course

Allowing students to independently develop research projects, coordinate data collection by integrating methods of the biological sciences and learning and training sciences, evaluate results, propose technological innovations for scientific and educational purposes, work in multidisciplinary teams.

Theoretical-pratical background

Provide students with a solid theoretical-practical background to enable them to acquire suitable knowledge of the most advanced technologies related to basic disciplines applied to neuroscience.

Autonomous research

Ensure high - quality educational research training.

Transversal skills

Promote the acquisition of transversal skills for different research areas, including the legal field.

Fund raising

Create an international network of skills in fund raising activities through the establishment of scientifically competitive partnerships.

Admission requirements

Master’s degrees, All Specialist Degrees or all Degrees earned according to the set of laws in force before Min. Decree 509/99 and equivalent educational qualifications.

Envisaged employment and professional opportunities

At the end of the study course, students will be able to develop research projects autonomously, and also coordinate data collection, integrating their own biological, learning and training science methods, evaluate the results, propose technological innovations for scientific and educational purposes, and work with multidisciplinary teams.

PhDs will be able to continue their training in their respective areas of professional specialization as well as acquire functional expertise for a new professional figure capable of merging knowledge related to bio-neuro-psychic behaviour with issues detected in the school and training environment and the related potential development, while capitalizing on the links between neuroscience, cognition, education and educational practice, also with reference to the didactic software and web design sectors.

The skills acquired will encourage employability in various Neuroscientific areas, as well as in basic and clinical research institutes, academic and health institutes and research / development sectors of biotechnological and pharmaceutical companies, consultancy activities related to the scientific area of competence, the private sector, the public administration, the third sector within the social economy ambit, educational institutions, the businesses and people services sector, educational software development industries and the digital environment design sector.

Training provided

Seminars, national and international conferences, classroom and online lectures, internships (also abroad), participation in research activities, possible carrying out of supplementary teaching and tutoring activities, writing of papers.

Formazione

Linguistica	Saranno organizzati presso il Centro Linguistico di Ateneo (CLA), corsi di perfezionamento della lingua inglese. I dottorandi stranieri potranno usufruire dei corsi di lingua italiana.
Informatica	Saranno organizzate attività seminariali e laboratoriali di informtica avanzata, di analisi e gestione dei dati, di utilizzo di software specialistici per l'elaborazioni statistiche elementari ed avanzate.
Gestione della ricerca, della conoscenza dei sistemi di ricerca e dei sistemi di finanziamento	Saranno organizzati incontri di formazione sull'epistemologia e la semantica della ricerca, sui sistemi di diffusione della ricerca (pubblicazioni e banche dati citazionali), su fundraising (di bandi nazionali sia internazionali). I dottorandi potranno essere inseriti nei gruppi di ricerca dei progetti nazionali e internazionali.
Valorizzazione dei risultati della ricerca e della proprietà intellettuale	I dottorandi saranno sistematicamente incoraggiati a presentare paper per i convegni nazionali e internazionali. Saranno, inoltre, stimolati alla pubblicazione dei risultati di studi e ricerche su riviste scientifiche classificate, nonchè alla realizzazione di progetti di ricerca e lavori interdisciplinari.

University of Foggia

The University of Foggia, since its establishment, has presented a dynamic and innovative proposal in terms of training and research. The seven Departments "Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences", "Economy", "Economy, Management and territory", "Jurisprudence", "Humanistic Studies". Humanities, Cultural Heritage, Educational Sciences "," Clinical and Experimental Medicine "," Medical and Chirurgiche "with the three-year and master's degree courses, the numerous masters, research doctorates, specialization schools, have contributed to making the University of Foggia a center of culture that allows young people to acquire professional training that meets the needs expressed by society and the world of work. The past year, in continuity with what has already been undertaken in previous years, saw the University of Foggia expand and consolidate all the initiatives and activities aimed at improving and qualifying teaching more and more, research and international relations.
